ACD-A

ACD-A is anticoagulant citrate dextrose solution A, a citrate-based anticoagulant containing dextrose. It is widely used in PRP preparation and is frequently described in the literature as the preferred option for platelet preservation.

In practice

ACD-A and sodium citrate are not interchangeable without consequence. Swapping one for the other changes the preparation and, strictly, changes the protocol.
