# Platelet activation

Activation is the step that triggers platelets to release their growth factors. Some protocols activate deliberately before injection, others rely on activation occurring in the tissue.

Whether a protocol activates, and with what, is a genuine fork in the product. It should be recorded like any other protocol parameter.
