# Platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF)

PDGF, platelet-derived growth factor, is one of the principal signalling proteins released by activated platelets. It is routinely measured as an endpoint when platelet concentrate protocols are compared, alongside TGF-beta and VEGF, because growth factor content is the reason platelet concentrates are of clinical interest in the first place.
