# Bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC)

BMAC is bone marrow aspirate that has been centrifuged to concentrate its nucleated cell fraction. It is drawn from bone, usually the iliac crest, rather than from a vein, and it requires an aspiration needle rather than a phlebotomy set.

BMAC differs from PRP in the draw, not just the product. It is a more invasive procedure with its own room, staffing, and consumables implications.
